An easy Peanut Butter Pie should be in everyone’s tool box! This is a cool and creamy dessert that comes together in no time, and it ticks all the boxes. Oreo cookies? Check. Peanut Butter? Check. Loads of whipped cream? Check and check!
Anyone familiar with this little blog, or who knows me at all, knows that I love peanut butter. I don’t think food combinations get much better than peanut butter and chocolate. And, while I do love to bake, there are times when a no-bake dessert is exactly what you need. This pie is perfect for summertime BBQ’s, or any time of year when you need a treat ASAP. If you have a hand mixer, a pie pan, and a few simple ingredients you can wow your friends and family with this fantastic peanut butter dessert.
This easy peanut butter pie takes about 25 minutes to make. The hardest part is waiting a few hours (at least one hour, but more if you can control yourself) for the pie to chill. Really, the pie is best after chilling for at least 4 hours, but I won’t judge you if you dig in a little early. I prefer to bake my cookie crust for 7 minutes, but you really could skip that part to make it a true no-bake dessert.
Here’s what you will need:
It’s just cookies, butter, cream cheese, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and whipping cream. Easy, right? You won’t find a lot of recipes with so few ingredients for something that looks so fantastic.
Pro Tips:
The most time consuming step, and the only part that might include baking is the cookie crust. I give you whatever permission you need to just buy a pre-made cookie crust.
While I think Oreos make the perfect crust for this pie, a graham cracker, Nilla wafer, or even chocolate chip cookie would work here. Have fun with it!
I once made this pie with a true natural peanut butter, and it was NOT good. It tasted OK, and I really do love natural peanut butter, but the texture was all wrong. Use a nice Skippy or Jif peanut butter here. Even the “natural” Skippy and Jif work since they still have palm oil for that creamy texture.
You want to select an 8 oz brick of full fat cream cheese. Reduced fat or spreadable cream cheeses don’t work here. Also, make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature so it blends smoothly.
I didn’t include peanuts or chocolate in the photo of what you might need for the recipe because you don’t really NEED them, but if you have them on hand it makes things just a bit more fancy. Drizzle melted chocolate or chocolate syrup over the top of the pie, and maybe add a sprinkling of chopped peanuts.
